Fascia and Myofascial Release
Fascia (pronounced fasha) is a supportive cellular network that interconnects from head to toe. Fascia envelops tissues and organs of the body, including nerves, vessels, muscles and bones. It is multi-layered and multi-directional, allowing movement and dynamic balance.

Myofascial Release (deep-tissue massage)is a technique used to alleviate fascial restrictions. As fascial tissue serves as a conductor, inflammation and infection lead to dysfunction throughout the body (including poor circulation, adhesions in soft tissue, and pain referral). Stress and bad posture affect this network by creating a tightening, shrinking, and binding effect within the layers. Chronic aching, fatigue, and pain can result from this "gluing" or thickening of the fascia. Myofascial Release creates a heating effect that "melts" these adhesions, restoring muscles to a healthy state. Vital nutrients, blood and oxygen are allowed back into rejuvenated muscles.
